Boggy Bayou Guide Service Destin fishing report 3/13/2018
The first of the week brought with it rain, wind and cooler weather. The rest of the week is calling for sunshine with highs in the upper 60’s and lows in the mid 40’s.
The inshore bite has been very steady with good catches of sheepshead by the bridge and jetties, with an occasional pompano thrown in the mix. There has also been a few bull redfish caught by the jetties and just off the beach that make for a fun battle on light tackle.
The trolling bite has been pretty good with the spanish mackerel making their spring migration to the area along with some bonita and a hand full of king mackerel as well.
Deep sea fishing right now is real good, with catches of triggerfish, vermilion snapper (mingo), red porgy (white snapper) and there has been a few throwback amberjacks on the bigger wreaks that make for a hard fight.
Also a part of the deep sea fishing is shark fishing and shark fishing is good year round if you wanted to pull on something real big.
